That would be devastating for him as well, a big hit to the Russian economy. And one thing is to use that weapon going into the Winter and another going into Spring, that gives Europe ample time to ramp up imports from other sources. So it might not be a good card to play.

Anyway, from whatever sanctions they come up with the City of London banking mafia wants exemption from it. http://www.theguardian.com/world/2014/mar/03/uk-seeks-russia-harm-city-london-document

On a side note I heard on that 1 billion, most of that money would go to debt and Ukraine's biggest creditor is Russia, so most would be going straight to Putin.

If you haven't realized it yet since the US does not want to go to war with Russia for obvious reasons they would have to pay off Ukraine's creditors (Russia) so they won't financially collapse. Putin knows what he is doing. He is using his troops to get paid for what Ukraine ows Russia.

Yeah, the difference is russia medles primarily around its borders where it actually has a security stake. And the usa meddles everywhere around the world where they can expand martkets and exploit people for the enrichment of their business elite. Im sure russia will follow this example soon, and this is what us elites probAbly find most offensive.

I'm guessing if the US did NOTHING, we are selfish also. Seeing how Canada is imposing sanctions also, I'm guessing they want to expand their Tim Hortons franchises and Scotia Banks to the Ukraine and not help a country being violated unjustly.

This invasion brought to you by Kraft, Pepsi-Co, and Nabisco.

If the US did nothing, namely stop the operations of sabotage, enticing internal conflicts, all in the hopes of overthrowing governments they don't like, yes, that would be great.

Canadian government like to show itself to be a very good hat. So what?

Also, I'm seeing now that Russia hasn't even done much. Troops in the Crimea were already present. There was no actual invasion just the threat of it. And no talk of annexing Crimea. Russia imo opinion wants a friendly Ukraine, yes. Not one that totes to the West. Maybe they want to install a puppet government but that is light years from happening.

If you think governments act like this, and the West actually cares about Ukrainian people there's a huge wall between us in how we see the world and history.

Its the Ukraine's call and not Russia's.

We get it that you hate all things US. Ever think US and Canada are there for the same thing? The best solution is for Europe, Ukraine, and Russia to all get along, hard to do that when Putin wants to play by his rules.

Russia doesn't care about Ukrainian people either and history shows that. The US helps its European allies who have a stake in that area as a security and economic concern. NATO members help each other.

Russia actually does care some, those countries are intertwined.

The US cares to extend its influence and isolate Russia. Russia doesn't want that. Simple enough?

It's not that the West cares about Ukraine, it's that Ukrainians want a piece of the pie that is offered in the West. They have been living 22 years under Russian puppet governments, they know very well what that is like. The smart people are not naive thinking that there is some well meaning savior looking out for them with nothing in return. It's very much understood how the West functions, but that is better than the systems that have been in placed where the majority have no access to that pie. Just like your parent's sought the US, as fucking corporate corrupt and morally broken as it is here, people have a wider chance to get a piece of it. That is what they want.

And don't believe that just because you see these people now rise up in Russian dominant areas is not some full on manipulation. It's very easy to mobilize and deceit people into supporting some cause without them thinking what's best for them. Like this video I shot in Managua last year, where half a million marched for a Putin-esque government that has them living in absolute Africa-like poverty and misery. See their enthusiasm. People are easy to manipulate.

really? who are we supposed to believe is manipulating who more?

I understand that there are always interests who benefit from selling out to western agenda. Latin America wouldn't know anything about that
But I certainly don't expect Russia to tolerate a hostile Ukraine. Can't say I know exactly all the specifics but the pattern is common. Besides, like I said I don't care for "Putin's System", but I don't even see them doing anything substantial.

Expect perhaps giving the West and fascists valuable warning to watch yourself. and that I support

It's because they make it look like fun, it's not til after the fact that many give it though, and they're fucked by then.

I work with a guy whose in-laws are in the affected eastern part. There is a heavy Russian military presence there in the last few weeks. Russia plays the PR game as well as anyone. Obviously you believe it. What can the Ukraine do, they are overmatched? Don't think for a minute that Russia doesn't try to influence foreign governments.

Maybe they should sell the affected area back to Russia for a steep price, idk. I think people make way too big a deal over nationalities anyway.

Great post. I would love to see a list of countries where the majority changed from democracy to state-run "for the common good". "For the common good"tells me the only ones happy are the "elected" officials and their cronies.
