What does that have to do with anything? A majority of countries have only one official language. For one thing, it simplifies communications at the institutional level.
Just because majority of countries have one official language does not mean it works for all. That means marginalization of speakers of Russian and other languages. How will a Russian speaker make a simple application to an official? Even European parliament has opposed this move.
Ask those from Quebec who do not speak English how they would cope if French is abolished?
