'Every little helps' said the wise old woman. As she pissed into the sea.
Adding, but only by subtraction, but nonetheless adding.
Because if you add one grain of salt to a pile of salt containing 1000 grains of salt, you would then have 1001 grains of salt.
The salt pile would be identical with 1001 grains or 1000.
And this is my point. Think about it.
Life is about change and growth, and within that growth the salt analogy is very meaningful.
The grain of salt you added may be diseased and rotten, thus contaminating an otherwise ultra healthy pile of salt. Or it may be a leader, a strong grain - in fact - a leader among grains.
I think the point is this: We are all in control of our destiny and as such we are duty bound to strive to become our best.
In doing so, it's entirely possible we may then be able to perceive the cultural and social attitudes of acceptable - and unacceptable - behaviour.
As Emily Dickinson quite rightly said: “How strange that nature does not knock, and yet does not intrude!” –
Weird, strange, different and unique are all different shades of the same word.
What shade are you? Be a shade and be proud.
Because shades are salt and salt are shades, and only you know which one will open the door to happiness.
Think of it like this: Two grains of salt are passing in the street - and by chance - two separate glances meet, and I am you and what I see is me.
Frankly, it's clear.
Good night. And God bless. You all.
