I am talking about something happening here. It is really not relevant what is going on in Malaysia or the USA or Equatorial Guinea in terms of my reaction to the music playing in a grocery store here.


Did you know that it is currently 2005 by the Ethiopian calendar? If you said today is 2012 and an Ethiopian corrected you, would you consider yourself half-wrong?

I find that the ABC philosophy of sales is also a good thing in composing music.

Going into a new song, it is very easy to think, 'Okay there is soooo freaking much to do and I want everything just exactly a certain meticulous way and it is going to take forever and basically there is no end in sight.'

But if I just say, 'Okay I need a piano track. I want it right but it is within my abilities. Just do it and CLOSE it and move on to the next thing,' - I feel better and I get better results.

Then vocal track. Then Bass track. The percussion track etc. etc. Get er done! ALWAYS BE CLOSING.


I started recording a new song about 3 days ago and it already feels like the end is in sight. I can see the path and I know how to do all that shit.

I was put in charge of desserts for Thanksgiving, volunteered to do it. I just discovered this on Sunday. Yesterday, I go out and spend $80 on dessert ingredients for 15+ people (pies, cobblers). While on facebook, I noticed that one of the other people attending is baking pies today for Thursday. I'm kind of pissed and I know that makes me seem petty. However, I just spent too much on ingredients for something that will now not be baked.

Anyone want to come over to my house just for pies and cobbler?
