So the Habs are good again. Very good actually.

The Raptors are off to a good start, Demar Derozan in particular. They are still in the same league as Cleveland and Golden State but hey.

The Toronto MLS soccer team has something going on. Or maybe it's over now. It was looking good for a minute there for sure though.

Those are some random sports thoughts.

Habs are doing the exact same thing they did last year. Get off to an amazing start then start slacking off. I'm really scared for tonight's game.

Pacioretty is a horrible captain. Trade him away and give the C to Weber.

Here's what I was hearing about Toronto FC which is a soccer team in a league called the MLS.

So they won a playoff game for the first time in the history of the franchise. So they moved forward to a 2 game aggregate playoff against New York. Toronto won the first game at home 2-0.

So then the next game was in New York - at Yankee Stadium - which apparently is not a proper soccer pitch. That's what people kept saying. They would talk about the upcoming game and how weird things might happen because Yankee Stadium is not a regulation field. Too small I believe. Maybe not even a proper rectangle ??? Hell, I dunno - people kept saying stuff like this and they were nevertheless having a critical playoff game there.

:dunno:

MLS stands for Major League Soccer.

Anyway if Toronto scored 1 goal, then New York would have to score 4 because of the road-goals tie-breaker.

I don't know if that second game has happened yet. I guess that is easily look uppable.

Nope, not yet. Sunday.

I recall a little while back, someone on the radio saying it was too bad for the Raptors that their season opener was up against a Toronto FC playoff game. Because that was going to cost the Raps attention. Because of all the extraordinary amount of attention on Toronto FC.

The person who said it is connected to the Toronto FC broadcasts.

It reminded me of the kind of statements that constantly come out of the US election where you aren't sure if the person saying something stupid is actually stupid enough to believe what they're saying - or they are knowingly saying something false trying to trick other stupid people into believing the stupid thing. Ends justify the means and all that.

This is what I am never sure of with American politics and now, local MLS soccer people.
