With the Grey Cup rapidly approaching, Canadian Football League commissioner Jeffrey Orridge met with the media for a state-of-the-league address. He was asked about the connection between football and concussions and degenerative brain conditions - like CTE. He made this comment:

"Last I heard, it's still a subject of debate in the medical and scientific community," Orridge told reporters. "The league's position is that there is no conclusive evidence at this point."

Gotta hand it to him, saying something that retarded for everyone to see - it takes balls.

This news is somewhat hand-in-hand with some new attempts to unionize UFC fighters.

Not that I really give a crap, but wow, those guys are getting an insanely bad deal compared to the big unionized sports. Like NBA, NHL, NFL, MLB - they are all basically a 50/50 split of all revenues between owners and players.

Apparently UFC is 92/8 in favor of the owners. And that's not counting TV revenues. On the Fox deal - owners keep 100% - fighters get zero.

Oh well, at least it's not like there is any danger of participants getting hurt at all.
