Coming up on one of the most prime possible periods in my sports fandom.

Got the Blue Jays, who I feel like will stay in the race through September and will have nothing but important games/series the whole month - then hopefully playoffs.

Got the World Cup of hockey. Coming on fast. Nothing bigger than that in my world. Canada fighting to defend our hockey honor.

NFL starting up. That's a distant 3rd in this equation but I do enjoy some NFL.

Lookit me, all into stuff. Go sports!

Rooting for the Vikings this year to do well! Bradford was hated ungodly (IMO unfairly) in Philly! Will find out how good he can be with a quality team behind him!

Marking down 10/23/16 on the calendar! Minny at Philly! Bradford vs Wentz!

Wild looking new home!

So if those paralympians could have won the regular gold medal, then why aren't they on their regular national team? - and also, we need some rules for who qualifies as para. To be a paralympian, you should have something seriously wrong with you.

Like you should not be particularly competitive. You should be that guy that they let take a shot at the end of a high school basketball game - and players from the other team, get out of the way - and people start tearing up because it's such a touching gesture for the spunky towel boy who always has a smile and gives his all.

There were probably some really sweet "special" guise who could and should have been in that race instead of a bunch of world class athletes.

Muddy, my understanding is that if the paralympic athletes had competed with the regular athletes, they woulda gotten smoked. The latest Olympic 1500m was unusually slow because of a specific race dynamic/strategy that had everyone keep a slow pace until they got near the end. Every race is different.

Basically, the blind athletes who ran at 100% the whole way would've forced everyone else to run faster from the start, and the time woulda been much closer to the 3:28 world record (which is ~20 seconds faster than the fastest paralympic time.)

That's my understanding.
