Just finished the new mini series. 10 hours.

Very much like the original, which I loved watching in high school.

I enjoyed it. Much more graphic and violent than I expected for the History channel.

Could have done without the minor role by TI the rapper.

You weren't in no high school when the original with Geordie Laforge happened. Not sure I was yet.

I watched it and was engrossed in it for sure - although one thing I distinctly remember was Alex Haley, the writer, was later busted for having a crapload of false stuff in it.

So I wonder if they did the necessary adjustments for a remake.

I can't actually stand up and recommend it. I've watched all three episodes and will keep going for now but I'm not sure why.

It's silly but there's something.

It was just implied though - they don't show the actual flow.

And let me just say, Three Kings (1999). Gave it a rewatch. I find that to be a damn solid movie and rate it quite a bit higher than the consensus. 8.1 out of 10 for me.

I had forgotten it was directed by David O. Russell who of course has been working repeatedly with Jennifer Lawrence/Bradley Cooper/Robert Deniro in recent years. I believe Three Kings is his best movie so far.
