I'm way behind on movie reviews I want to share, but here's one everyone should watch.

World of Tomorrow. 17 minute animated short.

A cloned woman time travels to visit her original self as a child to fetch a memory and share a little information about the future.

It's a perfect little bit of sci-fi. Funny, depressing, interesting. Give it a watch.

You can pay to watch it here, if you want to be a good person:

Thoughtful and worth a watch.

Funny too. Some absurdist laughs to be had in there.

45 Years (2015) - This is one of those movies that critics love. Me, less so.

I guess it is a dose of truth. Humans really will get themselves worked up over stuff like what happens in the film, and me telling them they should just chill out does not change it. I may not relate but I recognize.

Human condition and whatnot.

Charlotte Rampling is nominated for the Best Actress Oscar. She is very good as is Tom Courtenay.

It is reasonably well made with, as I say, good performances, but it is sooo slow-paced and covers such a small distance ---> I have to go thumbs down. 4.9 out of 10

Just finished The Knick. Maybe the best series I've ever seen at developing characters. Not a throwaway character in the bunch.

Impressive. I think they probably benefited from knowing that this cast would only have a 20 episode run.

But, wow. Great stuff. Great ending.

Great eyebrows.

I don't think I've particularly noticed eyebrows before, but I couldn't take my eyes off of Nurse Elkins'...

I like when the lower classes attempt to avoid impending disaster through discount time travel. I don't want to give any spoilers so all I will say is, "Pretty."

I also enjoyed the robots on the moon.

Just noticed that the director, Don Hertzfeldt, did the couch gag for a Simpsons episode. It's a little weird.

I don't know what to think about the future of The Knick.

After the conclusion of the second season on December 18, 2015, it was announced that Cinemax had ordered a script for the season three premiere and a season outline, with negotiations for a third season. In a December 2015 interview with director Steven Soderbergh,
he confirmed that Dr. Thackery dies in the season two finale, and that it was all planned from the beginning, and Clive Owen only had a two-year contract for the series.
Soderbergh also said, "I told them [Cinemax] that I'm going to do the first two years and then we are going to break out the story for seasons 3 and 4 and try and find a filmmaker or filmmakers to do this the way that I did. This is how we want to do this so that every two years, whoever comes on, has the freedom to create their universe."
