well, revolution and mob doctor im seeing are actually on mondays...guess i watched the webrips last night..revolution will lose me anyways...and leverage/hell on wheels/weeds is about done for the season... i watch 2 or 3 on sunday night after football and the others in the morning when i work out... i like some tv though, no argument there...

Anyone know the best site to get an accurate across the board rating of movies?

You know, I really liked the season with Julia Stiles (other than the horrible name they gave her character. Fokken Lumen?) But that arc from victim to motivated aggressor was as absorbing as anything they have done IMO.

It was a different sort of villain. I wouldn't call it my favorite villain. Not particularly memorable. But I liked that season.

Oh. After trying to watch Godfather III last night, I tried watching The Wire (season one, episode one) and turned it off too. Holy boring as snot.

Same here with The Wire. Tried to get into it a few weeks ago. Made it 20 minutes and turned it off.

GF III is painful. Between the daughter, the fruity son, and Andy Garcia... Just a fucking mess.

Not exactly sure what you are asking MrM. imdb has ratings, usually based on tens of thousands of votes or more (close to a million in some cases) for each movie and TV show. You can break them down by different demographics if you want.

While there are always going to be some I disagree with, I find that overall it is not bad.

I believe that the average rating is about 6.5 so you can go from there and see how far above/below average the masses have rated something.



I also wasted some time on a horrible movie last night. I'll get into more detail shortly. I see now the imdb rating is 5.7.

Shoulda paid attention.



What movie were you hating last night? (As I quote your post I can see there is a jpeg there but I am not seeing it, only the text.)
 
imdb is also way too generous with TV shows I find. Other things too. There are sacred cows. I'm pretty sure Christopher Nolan could film flies buzzing around a turd for an hour and a half and get an 8 rating at this point. Scorsese too probably.

I also find it overly generous with many, many oldies but that is reflective of the public as a whole and I kinda naturally make an adjustment.
 
What I was alluding to before:



Bad Teacher (2011) - So the question is, what was I thinking? I remember seeing trailers and clips when it came out and thinking it looked awful. But someone - well, not just one person - people - said something that gave me the impression it might have a certain subversive charm to it. I don't remember who exactly it was that said what, but I came away with the impression that it might have some of the qualities of Bad Santa which I love.

And maybe the fact it was directed by Jake Kasdan, son of Lawrence who has done some things I really like, gave me hope for it.

No, no, no, no, no.

Awful, lame, brutal. Even worse than my initial impression. I might have sat through half of it before turning it off.

2 out of 10. (imdb rating is 5.7)

Thanks Muddy and Matty! I thought imdb was the site since google takes you right to it! Don't know why pic didn't stay up but I repasted it in quote!

Perfect Sense got 7.0 at imdb! Since 6.5 say is average still believe it's only like a 5 at best! Will try your site too Matty in the future!

LOL Stevie with your Bad Santa waking ways! Working later in the day for so long now don't know if I could wake and proceed to work early AM anymore! Worst part was being in traffic and just looking at other drivers that appeared as miserable as I was!

Incomplete, bad dialogue, poorly written.

Almost a horror. Who's gonna die next.

That whole back story about finding the creator. 20 minutes at least of that. Only to see some strange projections and primitive monsters for the most part. They could have just said "we think we've found life on an earth-like planet"

I was expecting a LOT more fantasy. I was expected to see the creator....

I saw season 1 of Sons of Anarchy - I thought it was okay and am ready to watch more - and then since then I got all my new channels so I see Sons of Anarchy in the listings all the time - but I don't know where we are in time.

So I simply don't watch. I need to pick up where I left off, not just some random future point. Perhaps I will get it worked out sometime.
