Twilight (2008) - Finally got around to this star-crossed tale of ethical vampires and a girl who has apparently had her personality amputated.

What can I say? I liked it a bit more than I thought I would. I watched it through to the end. I never really considered bailing. There is quite a bit of hostility towards it at imdb which I don't really share. I mean, sure, I give it a thumbs down and I won't watch the sequels but I kinda sorta understand the appeal.

I am not mad at it.

Somehow I got a completely erroneous idea that Kristen Stewart was a promising young actress. I actually found quite a bit of unintentional humor in her completely wooden delivery of (what should have been) some rather emotional lines.

Whatever. It was just like an extended episode of some dopey teen TV show. Maybe there will be a TV series some day. My money is on YES. (Hopefully they will learn from Buffy and not take themselves quite so seriously).

Rating: 4.8 out of 10.

Once upon a time, I saw in the preview the guy stand in front of kristen stewert and say

"If you're gonna kill her, then you're gonna have to kill me too."

And at that point, I vowed never to watch Twilight

The end

I have changed my imdb rating on The Simpsons (TV show). From 9 down to 7.

The Simpsons at its best was IMO the best show in the history of TV. It was a 9+. But it has been so just okay for so much of its run now that 7 is probably generous as a big-picture reflection.

But it has so many bonus points from when it was at its greatest that ---> 7.

South Park is the greatest show in the history of TV. That is not a new decision for me but I am saying it again. Great, great work by those guys for such a long time.

Okay it feels like comedy and drama need to be categorized separately. The Wire is also the greatest show in the history of TV. But yeah.

South Park season premier by the way, is this Wednesday in these parts.

:megaman:

Dexter is a steaming pile of caca. Season 1 was great, then caca.

Common now.

I stopped watching The Simpsons and South Park a long time ago, but every time I catch a rerun I'm always impressed. The two South Park guys could well be the funniest people alive.

love the wire, but its far from true project life/drug slinging/gangbanging as it can possibly be... omar walks the street like he owns the town...he wouldnt walk 5 ft out of his house without getting 100 bullets in his ass if he stole stringers shit in real life...the show probably got many a negros ass shot up :lmao:

Didnt realize it till just now but I guess I now get a mess of football channels. With my old package, I would just be getting Buffalo/Cleveland. That does not seem like something I would have been happy with if I was in the mood for football. But as I move up the dial I am seeing a whole bunch of games including the 49ers whom I have developed an abiding interest in this year.

Maybe I have all the games. Its possible.

Not that I expect to be glued to football here but at least if I want to check in, there are better options that Bills/Browns.

Watched the Descendents last night! Decent movie! MrsM couldn't believe that was Michael O from Slapshot and Beau Bridges looks like he could team up with his brother the Dude for a Big Low 2!
