So glad they didn't go with Samantha Bee. That would have put me off my feed. Supporting your fellow Canadian is one thing but I can do without that chick.

Jason Jones is more palatable but he seems right as a supporting player. Larry Wilmore = also a supporting player. Same with Al Madrigal.

Jessica Williams? Maybe she will some day develop into something but right now ----> no.

Aasif Mandvi would probably have been alright but John Oliver seems like the right call.

Graceland...extremely overhyped new show undercover/fbi show on USA... it was mildly entertaining, but some bad acting made it pretty cheesy and unrealistic...Dafty would fucking hate this one..

Burn Notice final season started last night too... although its as unrealistic, its still one of the more bad ass shows around.

Hannibal continues to be entertaining...thursday tv getting good again

Some movies rated (out of 10) over the last little while

Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow (2004) - It has a style and sensibility which I can see being very appealing to peeps of a certain ilk. Not really my ilk though. 5.4

Two Mules For Sister Sara (1970) - Clint Eastwood and Shirley MacLaine and no deep thought required. 6.6

16 Blocks (2006) - Watched on the recommendation of my Jenny and I told her I thought it was pretty good but really thought it was pretty marginal. 5.2

Brave (2012) - Disney Princesses are changing with the times and I liked it. 7.1

Born Yesterday (1950) - Usually I complain about bad acting in old movies but I was surprised and somewhat blown away by Judy Holliday in this. 8

Star Trek Whatever It's Called (2013) - completely conventional action movie set in space. Inexplicably, alien races look 99% human. Why Star Trek is a big deal with nerds I'll never understand.

Garbage.

2 Matty Rains + 1 Matty Rain bonus for the cute English blonde with the minor role

So, after watching Game of Thrones's infamous "Red Wedding" episode last week, I am finally hooked, so I decided to rewatch from the beginning. Much easier to follow now that I have a better idea of who's who, who's where and why, etc. I still need to ask the occasional question to the GF (she's read all the books) and look up stuff on the GoT wiki, and I have to watch with subtitles on otherwise I lose roughly half of what's being said.

But yeah.

Good show.

:hides:

I'm still not sure how anyone can enjoy it with no prior knowledge of the books, and without doing some research. The GF agrees with me.
