Don't know if anyone has mentioned it yet, but I watched The Tree of Life for the second time the other night, I couldn't sleep and it was on, so I watched it. Not much to say about this movie except that I find it bland and pointless. I'll give it 4.5 stevieballs because I feel that the actors, particularly the oldest son, did well in portraying their characters and the tension with in the family.

Same sleepless night I watched We need to talk about Kevin Now this was a movie, based on a novel, from the mothers point of view in regards to her son, who had murdered with a bow and arrow, his little sister, father, and the some classmates in his high school. It takes you on flash backs of this mother and her struggle to raise this odd boy. I don't have much to say here either, other then I found it slightly disturbing. Not very suspenseful, and if it weren't for the fact that there was not anything better on, I probably never would have watched it the whole way through. There wasn't much there to hold ones attention, and the entire movie was set in a gloomy, dooms day tone. Pass. I'll give it 3 Steveiballs.
EDIT TO ADD: It's also one of the only serious rolls I have seen John C. Reilly in. I looked it on IMDB, and I was incredibly shocked to see it had a rating of 7.5!

Good reviews :cami:

Caught the tail end of "Black on Broadway", Lewis Niles Black's 2004 performance. A lot of it was old school i.e talking about Clinton, Bush, and other topics current back then but I like his attitude and delivery, sounds like Jack Nicholson in Anger Management sometimes. Some of the tangents were stretching it but he has his moments where you can really see the talent and why he's considered a classic. 7.5 Camibewbs

What has happened to Renee Zellweger? I love her. I kind of forget about her but then I'll see how good she was in something. There have been so many things. She's good at drama - like everyone - (well, not everyone) - but she's also really good at comedy. I love a chick who has a good touch with comedy.

And she can sing and dance too. Started watching Chicago last night. I'm thinking like, "Did I really ever love her that much? No, I must be remembering wrong. Maybe I never loved her that much."

But I end up loving her that much. Oddly one of my least favorite roles of hers was the one that won the Oscar, Cold Mountain.

I guess between her age and the fact she made herself look weird, maybe the plum roles are drying up?? Or maybe she's just off having kids? Dunno. Just don't see her out there much at all.

Haven't heard anything from Joey Lauren Adams for awhile either. It appears from her credits that she is still getting steady work but apparently she has been seriously focusing on the stuff Mudcat doesn't watch market for the last 1-2 decades.

Too bad about Renee though. I remember seeing her in Appaloosa and it was like, "Say, I wonder where that woman from the old west went for all her cosmetic surgery."

Always Sunny in Philadelphia! Took me a long time to get over the uncouth(?) nature of this show. It is pretty good in a way.
Yesterdays episode had many good parts. One was Danny Devito character Frank taking too many pills, wondering through the city confused. He gets picked up and taken to the mental ward.

One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest references well done. Once Frank regains himself he talks the Chief into throwing a drinking fountain through the window. Unable to convince the Chief to come along Frank hops out and runs through what appears to be a driveway, parking area. We see Frank getting smaller and smaller until we can barely make out that he come up on a fence and is putting his stubby legs on it in an impossible yet spirited attempt to climb it, as the show ends.

Love always sunny in philadelphia. Excellent writing. This is one of the funniest episodes, 13th episode from fourth season "the nightman cometh"

Classic piece of music theater. Troll toll

I rarely watch the special features on DVD's. I can't say never - there have been a handful of times in my life - but very rare.

You'd think that shit would be right up my alley but I never seem to think of it.

I might stand up and make a commitment here and now to change my ways, but now I rarely watch DVD's at all.

Seems like time has marched right on by all that.
