Joe Pa will be forced to retire

This thing is far from over. I think there's a lot more dirt to be uncovered.

If there is more to it will come form Sandusky. The way it looks is that the DA will offer him a plea deal so he can talk for a reduced sentence. And if he talks he will take many people down with him. Who knows how much more was being done in the showers between coaches, players, etc in the 60 years Joe Pa was in charge?

I watched Matt Millen (a board member, former player for and friend of Sandusky) on ESPN today. If you read between the lines of his words and his emotions.... I think he'd like to get his hands around Sandusky's throat right about now.

Jerry Sandusky was thought of as the heir apparent to Paterno before 1998. Joe Paterno told him that year that he would not be taking over the reins when Paterno retired. In 1999, Sandusky resigned from his position at Penn State. That's been called a retirement but it's not accurate. He was the leading candidate for the University of Virginia head coaching position in 2001 until Al Groh swept in out of nowhere and took that job. UVA met with Sandusky 3 times during that process and from my recollection he was the front runner and they were getting close to pulling the trigger. Ironically, it was leaked in the press that they decided against Sandusky because they felt he might be too devoted to his charity - Second Mile - and not be willing to dedicate the time required from a D1 head football coach.

Now, reading between the lines there can tell you quite a bit if you are prone speculate as I am. First, Sandusky is told by Paterno that he will not in fact be the heir apparent, as had always been assumed. He then steps down at PSU the year after this first incident and investigation in 1998. But he's clearly not voluntarily finished with his coaching career as he actively pursues and interviews for a job at UVA. Then, as UVA is very close to hiring him as the successor to George Welsh (who had a very close connection to Joe Paterno), out of nowhere the offer is made to and accepted by Al Groh. And the reasoning given for them cooling on Sandusky is his committment to the charitable organization where he has been culling his victims from for years.

There's a lot to read between those lines, and it makes me wonder again just how much Joe knew and when.

Jello 99% of child molesters have been abused themselves when they were young. So Sandusky was a player for Joe Pa in PSU and then became a grad assistant under him and then he became an assistant coach under him. So if Joe Pa molested him earlier he had his reasons for protecting him all these years since he was the one who created that monster.

Pavy I can't tell if you are joking or not.

Here's an article about Sandusky and UVA and Second Mile from 2001 if anyone is interested. Kind of creepy.

I have heard from a UVA insider that JoPa tipped someone off at UVA to look elsewhere when this was about to go down, but who knows if that was true. If so, I feel some weird sense of gratitude to him (just a sliver) and if not then to Al Groh for coming out of nowhere before UVA made a monumental mistake. It would have buried that program if this came out now while he was their head coach or recent former head coach.

Oh yeah, Sandusky also was offered but turned down the head job at Maryland in 1991. Another school that dodged a huge bullet along with UVa.

Too soon?:owl:

More than just a little creepy. Sorry guys, I'm too busy planning pedo-rapes to fully dedicate myself to football.

Ugh.

Die fokker die.

Exactly. A few really eery quotes in that article:

To have coached at Virginia "would have been neat in a lot of ways," he said, "but I've got a lot going on here and I'll be OK."

Ugh.

According to the indictment, in 2002 a Penn State graduate assistant - now-assistant coach Mike McQueary[12] - walked in on a ten-year-old boy being subjected to anal intercourse by Sandusky.

Who is this Mike McQueary turd? He witnessed a 60 year old man fucking a 10 y/o in the ass and all he did was tell his boss. All of them should die.

He was a graduate assistant.

If I saw a 60 year old man fucking a 10 year old in the shower I take the plunger from the toilet and shove it in his ass. Not every one reacts the same fiveteamer. What would fiveteamer do if he witnessed this?

That MCqueary guy should be in jail, not that I think he legally did anything wrong. What did he just walk in, then walk out? How about helping the little kid?

The guy has definately been paid, or promoted to keep his mouth shut. Scumbag.

They need to ban the whole program for 2 years.

guy doesn't look to concerned with the gravity of the situation in this picture taken today on his way to practice...

laugh it up Joe

Jerry Sandusky, Mike McQueary, Tim Curley, and Graham Spanier are on a plane, with an elementary school field trip

McQueary notices that the engine is on fire..... so he calls his dad, and his dad says to parachute out of the plane and call joe paterno...

so he parachutes out, and calls JoePa and tells him the situation.

JoePa calls Curley and tells him the bad news, Curley tells Spanier.... by this time BOTH engines are now on fire, and the plane is going down...

Spanier pulls out 3 parachutes and tells the other 2 men... we have to jump and parachute.

Curley says: What about the kids?

Spanier says: Fuck them!!!

Sandusky pushes Curley aside and says: DO WE HAVE ENOUGH TIME?
