Chalk one up for the little guy.

Easy to forget we had a guy named Devon Travis who was looking like a lock for rookie of the year and to be a fixture at 2nd base indefinitely - before getting injured.

Ryan Goins has always been good with the glove and now coming into his own with the bat. Fantastic August and now carrying it into Sept.

Tough decision down the road. Good problem to have though. Significant trade value for both, I reckon, if it comes to that.

Donaldson man, 3 rbi and a couple runs already in the second inning. 2 for 2.

Just scored on a sac fly to the second baseman.

It wasn't one of those deals where the fielder was running away from the plate, or diving, or crashing into the stands. He had to back up a bit but he was basically planted when he caught the ball. I don't think anyone could believe Donaldson was going for it but some extreme aggressiveness and crazy flying slide ---> safe.

Glad that guy is on my team.

I couldn't believe Donaldson went for it. I like to call the action ahead of time to impress the woman.

-He's gonna walk Encarnacion. He's scared to throw over the plate.
*Encarnacion gets a walk*

*Tulo hits a shallow pop-up*
-We're not gonna score, that's not nearly deep enough.
*Donaldson goes for it and scores*
-Motherfucker.

Crazy fok.

I had the same reaction. The pop-up is floating down and I basically stopped focusing on the TV.

Suddenly someone is running. I figger Donaldson in feinting off the bag - for whatever reason ballplayers do shit like that.

Suddenly the guy on TV is still running and I'm thinking, "Wut? Well this is a weird time to go to out-of-town highlites."

But no. That was our guy.

Crazy fok.

To induce a poor, hurried throw by an outfielder which can (seldom) allow the runner to score.

Tron is always more than willing to help out the Gamelive baseball guys who are coming back to the game after a long hiatus.

:handshake:

seriously though, guys should probably go for home more often, especially with 2 outs. Chances of a throw/catcher fuck up > getting a hit.
I don't know how they ever able to catch and tag people with those goofy glove and face mask and chest protector

Thing was, Donaldson actually had another ultra-aggressive baserunning play an inning or two later.

Same kind of effect from a viewing perspective. You don't see it often. It worked too. You kinda wonder why it doesn't get tried more often.

Whatever, the guy is slightly crazy and good to have on your team.

As I was typing it, I idly wondered if someone would actually offer an explanation why runners in baseball feint.

I only took the time to offer an explanation because I assumed you did not know why. You've made a couple of super-casual baseball fan comments in the last month or two that really had me scratching my head so I figured I'd lend a helping hand.

what you're saying now is that it was a tarp? Or you were Mudcat thinging. That's fine with me as well. I approve of Mudcat thinging.

Gotta keep people on their toes. :handshake: I like to do it, too.

When I see nonsense about batting average being relevant, I like to flip that table over and make some noise.
