I can't help but think after reading this thread that you two would make a really good couple Matty. You'll get bored with random chicks after a while and look back at her as a wasted opportunity when she's moved on. I have more than a couple of regrets that way.
 
Matty I think you're going to have to grow some balls and make a decision either way. Either cherish your luck at finding an awesome roomy and go out and root randoms immediately to get this shit out of your system or take a chance and just go for it with the Amy Adams lookalike. (Before pic)

Facts:

Xmas gift - that's something a chick would buy for her boyfriend, not a friend. The meaning behind it is too sappy for just a normal roomie gift.

Wally's right - that was her version of a hissy fit when Chunky Chick was at your place. That's the first thing I thought of when you told that story in another thread because in all honesty, that's pretty rude behaviour on her part. She didn't know the date was a dud and even if she was plastered, she'd surely have enough sense to make herself scarce.

Life isn't a chick flick Matty. You're not going to live together, both of you having casual flings with other people and then look into each other's eyes one day and decide it's the right time to have a relationship. If you start bringing chicks home, you'll most likely kill all chances of a future thing with the roomy. Which is ok if that's what you want but you need to be realistic here. She was jealous when you were sitting on the couch with CC. How do you think she'll feel/ react when you're going at with one in your bedroom?

A good internet ending would be that Wally in fact got laid and got paid back the money. The reality is that I never got either.

The situation started out as wanting to help someone I cared about. As I said she was a cop but she had real issues with trust, as well as other things and I was doing what I could to help her out both finacially as well as personally. I had the White Knight syndrome back then, yeah I know how weak and really sad that sounds but it's true. I always thought that if you did what others wouldn't do then it would pay off in the end. As Shari referenced those sappy movies where all of a sudden they realize "you're the one", that's what I thought at the time.

Some people are born with the instinct and others have to learn the hard way that life isn't a movie script and there isn't always a happy ending. I eventually learned but only after years of never giving up.
 
Wally this story broke my heart when you told me it on the phone and it still makes me sad now. I know there's a wonderful woman out there who can't wait to be Mrs Wally and she won't require saving.

Oh and in case you forgot I'm a single mother and I see you been cashing on those hockey plays, so in case you're feeling a bit heavy in the wallet...

Not this time. I went during the last Ashes here in '06 and got to see Warnie get his 700th wicket on Boxing Day. Not sure this one could come anywhere close to topping that so I decided to pass.
