I recreated one of my favorite meals last night that Outback Steakhouse used to make.
Steak w/ pesto sauce and cherry tomatoes over crouton.

Slice a few large pieces of bread, and cut the crust off. Brush melted butter on both sides and bake in a 350 degree oven, 10 minutes per side.

Brush EVOO, and season both sides of steak with salt and pepper. Cook on high heat, 3-5 minutes per side, flipping twice - you want it done medium rare. Grill some Cherry tomatoes for 3 minutes per side.

In blender or food processor, place Basil leaves, pine nuts, Parmesan cheese, chopped garlic and EVOO - Blend until smooth.

Lay steak in crisscrossing patterns over crouton, place tomatoes on and around that, then drizzle desired amount of pesto over top. Eat!

Soooo delicious! This is one of my feel good happy meals. Bacon ate his with the Pest on the side, I personally like the combination of all the different foods in one bite. Wish I had some left over for lunch.

Well, last night's recipe is from a cook book. Although I do have a few meals I have made myself with no recipe. I don't know that I have enough of my own recipes to publish a fool cook book.

My mother always told me I should publish my poetry.

We did these ribs twice recently IAG - 2 not so big racks for $11.99 so decent deal. Each time we bought them we had to point out to the cashier the discount, otherwise $11.99 each - awful deal. Now the tag is down and no more sale. There's still a bunch of racks left and conspiracy theorists are saying we are the reason why no more sale. Cami's been cooking up some magic since she got this cooking book from her Momzers. I could go for that dish with the green shit on the steak again soon.

Way to ruin the rib deal for everyone.

I got as far as the London Broil and got hungry so am going to attempt to make a Quiznos veggie sub replica but am wary about trying to toast the bread in the oven by broiling.

I will peruse the thread over the weekend. Does she have a recipe for wings in here?

We're due for London Broil too! good call.

Our wings are pretty basic - we get the ones with no sauce and throw them in the oven for like an hour, then eat them with cayenne. #oldschoolribs

IAG this just happened on my Googletalk with her:

me: players gonna play play play play play
hahah i did it again

I want basic. I need to start simple. I bought a ton of cooking/recipe books at a garage sale and the store, and got all geared up to try these things ..Most appear to have more work required than I want to do though considering I'm just cooking for me (mom on special diet) I also just looked up a wing recipe and it had the word "slurry" wtf is a slurry? I looked it up Appears to mean nothing more than thin mixture. Why don't they just say that?

I would be pretty proud of myself if I made my own wings for Sunday..even if they are simple. I want to get a big bag before the ones from California show up at my local grocery store.
