Mr Monkey what is your stake in this? Do you have a bet that I quit the gym within a month, lol?

Did I tell you that the first time I used the elliptical glider thingy, I was on for maybe 7 mins and my knees hurt and I got off and fell backwards? I had no legs. My first time ever on a cardio machine and it could've been realllly embarrassing if not for the fact that there was a window ledge behind me to plop on. lol.

Since then, getting more used to it. Start out on that thing for about 10 mins. Still pretty rough on my legs, but getting better. Use that for 10 mins. Then an hour of weights. Then finish up with 20 mins/5 miles on the stationary bike. End off with a good sweat.

Going great. Enjoying it. Also seems to be keeping me from drinking during the week, so that's a bonus as well. But the weekend is upon us. Oh yes.

Bread....guys aren't "allowed" to use the elliptical. It is one of those things...that is a woman machine. You don't realize it but every guy in that place is looking at you and laughing to their self that you are on it. It is like the stairmaster....you aren't allowed to use that either.

If a guy is interested in doing cardio he is relegated to either a treadmill or the bike....

Sorry Amby but jogging tightens up my lower back in under 5 mins. Need to eliminate that pounding on my lower spine. Maybe that's why I hate anal.

And Amby....I wear wigs in public and walk around with a little stuffed dog. Do you really think I give two shits about who is laughing at me?

valid point

Bread, I was counting on you being my inspiration to lose some excess weight gained in the last 6-12 months? Your doing good, keep it up, weekends are for play but Mon-Fri I need to see the full cardio workout?

I'm tired of hearing, "God you've gotten fat", "OMG, look at yourself in the mirror", "that's really attractive", "you ain't getting on top anymore" .................. Help me Bread! I see you looking like this guy in the future!

I was doing elip's for 30-40 minutes/day and the next day doing an hour on the treadmill. I did very little weights. I was doing a lot of low-impact stuff as I was waiting on getting my knee scoped. Now i run the stairs at the beach a couple of times/week until i can get back to the gym. Since October i have lost almost 65 pounds. The late-night eating and drinking i cut out and was the biggest difference.

pretty cool shit FW, congrats

Probably helped that I quit working at the bar, and quit the GF who was an alcoholic. Believe me, if i can do it, anyone can. I would stiff like to drop 35-40 more and be at my weight in high school at 46. Not many can say that. I'm sure it wont affect my partying in Vegas for the Rx/SBR bashes.

fw...youre middle aged so you have good experience....would you say that drinking has a HUGE effect on your belly?

I hate hearing that, and I fend it off. Since you've quit or severely cut back on drikining, did you notice a huge weight loss?

Did you ever workout while drinking and notice anything?

I had done it before. but not this radical. I started in October after we broke up in the summer. Mainly went to the gym out of boredom and to network for a sales job. On NYE, I tore my meniscus (same injury as Teela) in 3 places at work, slipped on ice. I was on workman's comp for 10 weeks and hit the gym religiously then. The one who helped me a lot was RayRay with diet. We probably had the same eating/drinking habits.

Drinking has a huge affect on your body, not just belly. When you drink, its the late night eating, all empty calories. I have to get up for work at 330 AM, so i have a fucked-up schedule to start. The most important thing for my was to eat a bigger breakfast. This stops the cravings all day, and you have the entire day to burn off the calories. Also, try not to eat within four hours of bedtime. Chances are, they will be calories that will be stored as fat. Drinking lots of water helps you a lot also.

Basically, there are no real shortcuts. It is a lifestyle change. You can still have cheat days, probably recommend that you have one a week as a reward. Sometimes i have them, sometimes I dont.

Good info brother.

Yea I think we all know what to do if you want results. It's just a matter of, how much fun do you want to sacrifice for results? (eating, delicious crap eating, late night eating, being lazy, no gym).

Just one more mindfuck that the good fake lord put in place for us. What a fun joke.

Proud of you man. So you know rayray in person? You probably don't wanna admit that too many places.

Never met him in person, but we have talked on the phone countless times, plus chatted on FB or other places frequently. I have met over 125 posters thru the RX bashes, so i have a lot of dirt. We will meet if he goes to the Rx Bash. I have met Whale though.

For you, its one of those things, start slow and build yourself up. Maybe a schedule like every-other day. Your goals must be realistic, or you will be frustrated and quit.
