I was behind one game. I really thought Tor would win game 2 in Cle and really get the city hyped and then lay a giant egg in 3 and 4 and lose in 5. I still stand by the same theory I was just off about which game they would win

Did you see that Toronto crowd outdoors watching the Raptors play tonight! Wow!

So have the Raptors moved ahead of the Blue Jays as Toronto's fav pro team? :dunno:

This guy knows, I mean knew!

Good question. There is more interest in the Raptors at this second for obvious reasons, but the only kind of apples-to-apples, big-picture comparison I can think of would be TV viewership.

I know the Jays pulled 5 million in Canada for game 6 of last years ALCS. I'm having a hard time finding up-to-the-second numbers for the Raps. Their game 7 against Indy in the first round drew 1.53 million - and was actually outdrawn by the NHL draft lottery that day.

Average numbers for the second round NHL series between Pitt and Wash was reported as 1.5 million.

By further comparison, last year's first round NHL series between Montreal/Ottawa averaged 3.2 million.

Again, that is Canada, not just Toronto but I guess it is some indication of where the Raptors are in the pecking order.

But if anyone knows how to get better data I would be interested.

So last night, the Raptors played as the Toronto Huskies - which was Toronto's original pro hoops team - circa 1947 - and they had the throwback jersies and some Huskies artwork on the actual court.

It was pretty good.

So howzabout we just make it official and ditch the silly Raptors name - which was decided from a fan vote around the time the movie Jurassic Park was coming out - silly - and never let anything be decided by a fan vote again - and go with the name Huskies starting RIGHT NOW.
