are about to go to overtime in their first game of the 2015 NBA playoffs.

Which is not really why I'm starting this thread. It is more about this feeling I have of, "Who cares?"

I like the Raptors and cheer for them and would love them to challenge for a championship.

But it ain't this year. It ain't this year for Washington either. That's who the Raptors are playing right now. Neither team is going anywhere.

I feel like, why even play the series?

Like I understand why play the series - and I totally want the Raptors to pull this out - on principle - but what is this?

I guess it's all about the greater philosophical question - which I realize I am not the first to ask - but what is better:

- an NHL situation where everyone truly does have some kind of shot and there is only 1 or 2 first round series where the favorite is -200 or more.

- an NBA situation where you get -6000 lines and most of the teams are truly just spot-fillers that everyone knows are not going anywhere.

And I guess the answer is, if you've got a marginal team, the NHL situation is better; if you've got an elite team, NBA.

I'm just wondering if the players have given up on Casey.

These iso plays that they keeping running, they cannot be drawn up plays and they cannot always be due to a breakdown.

Watch tonight, guys will just take the ball, go one-on-one at maybe the top of the key or even a bit in front of the 3 point line and they will just jack up an impossible fade-away or jumper.

This team was never really suited for the playoffs because they depend so heavily on jumpers and 3 point balls, but it has gotten worse since the all star break.
