ROFL! I have the Tigers-CWS game pulled up on cbssportsline. Keeping an eye on it for a future play I have.

They have a feature where you can "check in" to support your team. Basically say who you are rooting for I guess.

Usually pretty close to 50-50. If Boston or NYY are playing someone, can go to about 65-35.

Never seen something like this. Detroit clocking in at 91% with CWS at 9%!!!! :lmao:

At the moment, Ellsbury but either one is a good choice (and there is no-one close to them at the moment). Ellsbury gets a fair bit of his value from his defense which is more of a Gold Glove thing rather than MVP (in the eyes of the people who vote) so that might detract the voters. But he's got 98 RBIs (I know, an irrelevant statistic) when hitting lead-off. That's super impressive.

Kemp or Ryan Braun, perhaps even Justin Upton since his career year is the difference between the D'Backs running away with division as opposed to being in a last week fight with the Giants.

Halladay, it's not even close. He's been by far the best pitcher in the majors this year.

Yes, Halladay is better than Verlander this year but they are both having amazing seasons.

Verlander should get some votes for being really, really good. Like one of the top 10 players in the AL especially with his W-L record (which really means very little as to his actual talent). It should be between Ellsbury/Bautista, though.

Ellsbury is off that team, another comes in and they dont skip a beat. Not sure how valuable that is.

Ellsbury is having a career year, unless he takes what Barry Bonds might or might not have taken then he isn't going to have another one like this. Ellsbury is just as replaceable as Bautista but try replacing either of them.

I was saying that a W/L record is no measure of a pitcher. Verlander is talented but the W/L record is an awful measure of actual ability.

In 2008, Dice-K had a 18-3 record and Verlander had a 11-17 record. And Verlander was the better pitcher.

I'm not going by W-L. Besides wins, Verlander is leading the AL in 8 catagories. He has better numbers than Halliday in those catagories also, and is facing tougher hitters.

Ellsbury has been the most productive player in baseball over both the last two weeks as well as for the past thirty days. If he could pitch as good as he hits, took every at bat in the lineup and simultaneously fielded each of the eight defensive positions then you would have an excellent case for the team going 5-14 with his contributions in September.
