we will always NEED scouts in baseball
AL MVP - Bautista or Ellsbury?
NL MVP - Kemp or someone else?
NL Cy Young - Halladay, Kershaw, or Lee?
Halliday has been far better than Verlander? NO!!! The numbers Verlander is putting up are better, and that is going against the AL hitters.
Verlander is your AL MVP also, even though I probably vote for Bautista.
Yes, Halladay is better than Verlander this year but they are both having amazing seasons.
Verlander should get some votes for being really, really good. Like one of the top 10 players in the AL especially with his W-L record (which really means very little as to his actual talent). It should be between Ellsbury/Bautista, though.
Ellsbury is off that team, another comes in and they dont skip a beat. Not sure how valuable that is.
Not sure what Verlanders talent has to do with anything. You'll have to explain that Polaroid.
I was saying that a W/L record is no measure of a pitcher. Verlander is talented but the W/L record is an awful measure of actual ability.
In 2008, Dice-K had a 18-3 record and Verlander had a 11-17 record. And Verlander was the better pitcher.
I'm not going by W-L. Besides wins, Verlander is leading the AL in 8 catagories. He has better numbers than Halliday in those catagories also, and is facing tougher hitters.
Again, Ellsbury is having a great year, but the lineup is stacked. They also will win less games than last year and not win their division. They are 5-14 with his contributions in September and that should stand for something. Verlander has dominated all year and voters will look at that.
