I don't recall seeing television that answered so much without answering a single thing. Interesting story and all that but who was "Mother"? Who was the father of the terrible twins? Why can't Jacob/Smokey kill each other? Why did Kate look super hot in Season 1? Too many questions.

Yes they can create questions on that show - they sure can.

What were we to take from last night's episode? I noticed that the bottle that Jacob and his mother drank from was the same bottle Jacob was holding when he made the allusion in a previous episode, speaking to Richard I believe, to the island being a cork in a hellmouth. Oh the enchanting little pointless details they present us with!

But anyway, there is the notion that the island is a cork in a hellmouth. Are we now to understand that the island is also the vessel of all human goodness and light which, if extinguished, means the end of humanity?

And for some reason that means time travel and tropical polar bears?

Have I got it now?
 
Tonight is it! MrsM probably wants me to watch it with her. Hopefully I won't ask too many questions what's going on? That's a bad habit of mine that pisses her off when watching something. She says the shows sucks anyway so what's her problem? If I don't watch it than she's pissed too. I really have to try hard to keep my mouth shut tonight.

I'd bet that NotLocke dies and the parallel world somehow takes precedence over what happened on the island, which means that no one really dies when all is said and done. The parallel-world Losties just have this nagging feeling that they are connected to one another and they hold a big BBQ at Hurley's.

Something to consider: before tonight's 2.5 hour finale there is going to be a 2 hour recap show. That might pre-answer many of your questions.

Personally, I would not watch it unless I was paid.

Really! So waste 4.5 hours of my life. No way! I going to try to keep quiet and MrsM I know will eventually want me to start talking. Women never can give you clear signals!
 
My prediction. Ben is going to redeem himself (like he did in the alternate timeline where he didn't squeal on his boss to save the future of the girl), kill Smokey and save the island. He gave Miles a walkie talkie last episode and then Miles went AWOL (with the explosives, I think) so there is going to be something going on there. And hopefully Kate bares her breasts in one of the timelines.
