The only people who can find that shit satisfying are those like Polaroid who took shortcuts in viewing the whole series. Or people like "24" fans who watch TV for the immediate cheap thrills it provides.

Yup, and I think I wasted my time watching the few episodes I did. To be honest, based upon the ending there were only two relevant episodes in the entire season (the Richard one and the Jacob/Smokey twin one). For the entire season, the really important aspects of the series were either tossed aside (explaining away the voices, Widmore being killed just like that) or not explained (just about everything else).

The thing that gets me is how people say they got all emotional about the finale. Like they really gave a shit about the actual characters and relationships.

I never gave a shit about the characters. What was to care about? They all toggled between annoyingly mopey and annoyingly martyrish. There was no one that would have made me bat an eye if they dropped dead (ultimate resolution aside).

They were basically chess pieces to be shuffled around in order to advance the convoluted plot-of-the-moment.

Ugh!

About the only positive thing I have to say about the finale is at least it now makes sense why Hurley never lost any weight.

My only explanation for that abortion of a finale is that a bunch of ABC suits did extensive market research and they figured out that an emotional/spiritual/religious bullcrap ending would satisfy 50%+1 of the viewership.

What is even more infuriating is that those who never watched the show before but sat through the 4.5 hour "event" on Sunday probably thought it was a brilliant piece of writing.

JJ Abrams and what's-your-face, you both have tiny penises and you will die alone in an apartment you won't even own.

Muddy hate to break it to you but Hurley was never dead the whole time we saw him on the island that. He should of lost weight. We were only shown the time on the island up until Jack's death. We are just supposed to believe that Hurley eventually died because he was in the church but we don't know when.

What Immor said.

FWIW, if you were to rewatch the first couple episodes of the series (not that I would do such a thing), you would notice that Hurley was noticeably rounder back in 2004. Check the head/body size ratio:

I understand what you're saying but I have a different interpretation which would mean they all died in the plane crash and were dead from the first moment of the show. LOST would refer to their tormented souls journeying through Dante-ish levels of the afterlife.

Maybe I'm wrong. I didn't check if they released an official statement about what exactly they were trying to shovel or if it is open to interpretation.

So lets review.... What questions went unanswered?:

-What happened to Walt?

-What was the relevance of that statue?

-Why were there pregnancy problems?

-Was the entire show based on jacks life and his point of view?

Blitty nothing was answered. Just off the top of my head I could think of a shit load of questions that were not answered. There were too many things hanging out there that I knew they couldn't answer all of the questions. But in relation to the island and the characters abilities, they answered none. It was a total letdown.
