Job fair - Estevan Shoppers Mall

http://www.estevanmercury.ca/articl...62/-1/estmercury/job-fair-provides-connection

The job fair in the Estevan Shoppers Mall saw many industries participate, but still dominating the event with a healthy representation of tables was the oilfield.

Several energy companies were at the job fair next to other businesses like the school board, and health care and communications. Many of those find it hard to compete for jobs with the energy sector running so strong, but that just encourages them to be more aggressive in their recruiting process.

TIME SYSTEM IN SASKATCHEWAN

FACT SHEET

The provincial government (of Saskatchewan) received requests to adopt Daylight Saving Time, has examined the issue in detail and has decided to retain the current time system established under The Time Act for all of Saskatchewan. This issue is a divisive one with no consensus apparent within the whole province.
Saskatchewan is naturally located within the Mountain Standard Time (MST) zone which runs from just west of Winnipeg, Manitoba to just east of Lethbridge, Alberta.

Under The Time Act, Saskatchewan adopted Central Standard Time and therefore shares the same time as Alberta during the summer months and the same time as Manitoba during the winter months.

Prior to the implementation of The Time Act in 1966, the question of time was the responsibility of municipalities. Under The Cities Act and The Towns Act of the day, bylaws could be passed at any time through the conduct of a plebiscite on the question of observed time.

This resulted in a patchwork of time zones in Saskatchewan with communities using Central Standard Time, Mountain Standard Time or Daylight Saving Time as their local time.

The Time Act of 1966 was a compromise solution that allowed all of the province to observe Central Standard Time. During the summer months all of Saskatchewan observes Central Standard Time. Only the Battle River (Lloydminster) Time Option area follows Mountain Standard Time during the winter. The rest of the province is on Central Standard Time year round

wok box what a name

food was shit.

Well not exactly shit but very generic and expensive! A bowl of noodles and a couple of eggrolls and drink set me back $17.

Plus the food preparers were not "asians" they were pasty white Canadian fukks!

The food was pre cooked and pre packaged, in Toronto I could have had a real asian meal (prepared by REAL slanty eyed people) for $6.

The Estevan Arts Council's Stars for Saskatchewan series has announced several changes for their 2011-12 schedule.

Among the changes is the addition of renowned Saskatchewan comedian Brent Butt to the line-up.

Butt will be bringing his comedy show to the Estevan Comprehensive School (ECS) on Friday, March 23, 2012, starting at 7:30 p.m.

Butt, who hails from Tisdale, was the star and creator of the hit television series "Corner Gas" on CTV. A satirical look at the life of people in the fictitious small-town Saskatchewan community of Dog River, "Corner Gas" ranked among the most popular shows in Canada from its debut in 2003 until its finale in 2009.

An early morning fire at a poultry farm west of Canora, Sask., destroyed a barn with some 20,000 chicks inside, RCMP say.

The fire, at the Coastal Poultry Farm, was discovered around 6:30 a.m. CST Saturday and fire crews from Canora were dispatched to the scene.

"When we rolled up the flames were just above the roof, a couple of feet, and coming out some of the side vents," local fire chief Michael Doogan, told CBC News on Saturday. "The whole building is tin, on the outside, and [the fire] kind of contained itself inside the building."
