"On June 4, 1978, Robin Williams married his first wife, Valerie Velardi. Their son Zachary Pym "Zak" Williams was born on April 11, 1983. During Williams's first marriage, he was involved in an extramarital relationship with Michelle Tish Carter, a cocktail waitress whom he met in 1984. She sued him in 1986, claiming that he did not tell her he was infected with the herpes simplex virus before he embarked on a sexual relationship with her in the mid-1980s, during which, she said, he transmitted the virus to her."
 
This whole notion that people aren't supposed to get depressed is ludicrous. It's something everyone struggles with at some point. I don't believe modern medicine has all the answers either. And without getting too personal I am very aware of how this type of thing affects a family. You're tellng the people you gave life that it's meaningless or that life isn't worth the struggle. It's very confusing if you're 12 or if you're 22. It's something an asshole does. So fuck him. He was great in Goodwill Hunting but I can't respect him for hanging himself. And he certainly doesn't deserve to be martyred by all of pop cilture either. Take some responsibility for your actions and stop making excuses for bad behavior for fucks sake.

Cougar sometimes you're sharp, and sometimes you revert to dumb-as-a-bag-of-nails status.

There is a world between "feeling depressed" and suffering from clinical depression.

You, sir, do not suffer from clinical depression. Other people do.

Grandma Rain has had cyclical depressions all her life. Every 5-6 years she would feel it coming and she would start packing her bags. She'd then spend the following weeks at the psychiatric hospital, where people are professionally trained to deal with someone who is suddenly unwilling to get out of bed and/or feed herself, for no apparent reason.

Depression is not the same thing as ruminating about your shitty life.
 
So how did clinical depression work out here...doesn't seem it did.

It's not a character assasination and I'm not talking about myself in comparing the situations I'm saying I do have some experience with this stuff (just not me but someone close).

It's a really horrible example to set for your children.

As for the date 8 day karma and RW was an 8.

I bet there's more to why he killed himself and that's why there's no note.
 
there is a huge issue with clinical depression. That's why in this case the toxicology report will be so revealing. There are several medications that increase suicidal tendencies and need to be closely watched by medical personnel who are trained to use them. I had a good friend who shot herself after her GP doc changed her depression medication without properly weaning her off the previous one she was taking.

My main issue with RW is how people seem to be glorifying him and his death. There's a lot of screwed up people out there who would copycat in a heartbeat.
