Random thoughts

If someone shot at him in the dark he could have panicked and mowed down everyone since he has nothing to lose at that point.

yeah good rule of thumb....

don't "disturb into a panic" the lunatic that is shooting dozens of people at point blank range.... we don't want him getting scared, angry, or panicked...he might do something irrational and dangerous

lolzz...nothing screams "i live in the south" like fried cheese and fried catfish ordered at freakin 1am... the broad weighs 105 tops...i dunno how some people do it :nope:

what might the outcome have been if say 10% of those in attendance were carrying legal guns and trained to use them?
willing to bet it would have saved at least 1 innocent life and shocked the shit out of the gunman when bullets starting flying back at him...
since he it wouldnt have been like shooting fish in barrel for him:bugs:

So our choices are to never leave the house, risk a massacre, or potentially become part of a shootout at the O.K. Corral?

I don't know what the answer is. You honestly can't afford to have armed guards everywhere people gather. I doubt very seriously if anyone wants to live in a world where everyone you meet is packing heat either.

Maybe science can come up with a chip that will automatically turn your lights out the instant you brains signals you to do something stupid. We will become a nation of Rumplestilskins.

Maybe this is because of the movie American Psycho.

I remember before it came out, people protested it. People devoted chunks of their lives trying to prevent American Psycho.

It was a cause. I didn't understand it. I mean sure there was some violence but nothing more shocking or subversive than a million other movies. So why focus your emotional energies on it? It wasn't just one person either - it was a bunch. I wanted to get them all in one place and say, "You are all being so random. Like why don't you protest PLIERS ???"

But maybe what happened this week was because of American Psycho. Maybe they knew what they were doing the whole time.

I was being sarcastic above...

I think in some situations...yeah, having citizens with legal guns might prevent deaths, shootings, crimes.

in this particular situation. I don't think more guns would have helped...and quite possibly might have led to more innocent people getting shot accidently by would be "heros" with guns.

its not just the guys way higher fire power and body armor, but the mass confusion+dark+smoke+people running everywhere

and who's to say if I'm at the theater that when I get my gun out and start shooting at the lunatic (if I can find him)

that another guy who also brought a gun would not see me shooting, and think I was the actual terrorist and shoot me????

in a well lit sitiuation.. gun vs gun vs bat...

if 10 people who couldn't see or breath in the dark because of tear gas in a dark room started shooting in the dark without seeing you would have additional friendly fire victims.

The rate of fire of an assault rifle is no match for a pistol. On top of that the guy was wearing a bullet proof vest and has thrown tear gas in a confined room while wearing a gas mask and night vision goggles.
I havent paid any attention to the details aside from a crazy guns down innocent folks.

fully auto assault rifle? other then that only advantage is more powerful and more shots before reloading.
but the tear gas and dark would be in his favor no doubt:goodforyou:
as for a vest... even 1 direct hit anywhere except the vest would have slowed and/or stopped him( even if just for a moment)
maybe not if he's whacked out on angel dust, ice, etc...

you think he went in there expecting return fire or just shooting targets sitting in chairs?

anyway, my point is if more citizens carried protection and were trained to use them instead of being scared of guns incidents like this
MIGHT have less chance of occurring.
but more so robberies, like Archie's vid:megaman:
IMO all the thugs would have a 2nd thought about robbing someone/someplace if they had even a slight chance of being confronted with an equalizer like the old man in vid

maybe just way I was raised..IDK but some of my earliest memories are my dad taking us to shoot and teaching us gun safety.
so if for some unlikely chance we had to use a gun at home alone then we knew what to do.
he said just make sure to drag them in the house before calling the cops

The ar-15 has more firepower than a pistol even in semi-auto mode. It holds a 30 bullet magazine compared to 10 for a pistol. It also has a scope but the biggest advantage is the rate of fire. Since it fires a .223 caliber it has less kick back and you can pull the trigger faster than a .40 caliber glock for example.

I have been conceptualizing a song lately and in one little section of it, I want a finger snapping sound. So earlier this week I set out to create that section of music and I looked at my software. But for all the percussion sounds available, I could not find a fingersnap. There is a handclap but no fingersnap.

So I spent some time listening to sounds that I thought might be suitable alternatives. I finally settled on something called Perc FX 1. It is closer to a ticking clock than a fingersnap but I figured I would make do. If there is no fingersnap, there is no fingersnap. I laid down a track of Perc FX 1.

You know what I just realized? Like just now? After contemplating this issue on and off all week and spending time on various experimentations?

I can just stand here and snap my fingers in front of the microphone. I imagine anyone reading this, thought of that almost immediately, well before I spelled it out.

However it just occurred to me now.

We are not smart.

What's "fire power?" Less kick than a .40 caliber? Hardly. They are probably about equal.

Most people do not put scopes on AR-15's. And a scope severely reduces your rate of accurate fire versus open sights. More precise. More time to acquire a target.
