Well that was interesting. I just assembled a barbecue but there were leftover parts. And not just one or two little washers or something - there was quite a bit of stuff.

It was like, wow, what am I going to do with these leftover parts? :clueless:

So I started tinkering with them and when I was done I had a constructed a medium sized forensics laboratory complete with DNA Flight Mass Spectrometer.

It was quite a lot of leftover parts. I hope the barbecue doesn't blow up.

Huge misconception about Canada. Wrong to the point of being comical.

Canadians are not elitist and do not think of ourselves as superior. That is the pretty close to the opposite of our national character. Canada as a country is extremely humble - well aware of its limitations - self-deprecating - too much so, some would say - and just considers itself one small part of the world community.

Now if you think Canada is elitist just towards the US, there is some truth to that. There is day-to-day exasperation at the noise coming up over the border, particularly the relentless political childishness - occasionally sliding into political horror (a decade-long war in Iraq? Really?) - the goofiness about guns - the resistance towards evolution . . . I could go on. There is a lot of noise and the US is very close by. But the US is just one country in the world, one small piece of the big picture, and Canada's reaction to it is likewise a trifle in the big picture.

Canada is SO humble. If you wanted to say Canada's humility gets extreme to the point of being sickening, that might be something to discuss. But elitist? You just don't know Canada.

There may be a country with a strong tendency to beat its chest and say, "We are the best in the world!! Look how great we are!!" but it sure ain't Canada. And if someone on a forum from that country said to me, our people and Canadians are just the same, I would be inclined to respond,

:clueless: Are you drinking?

After multiple debates with my lady friend from Vancouver over this, she finally said "To tell you the truth I think that jealously plays a big role towards us disliking you guys."

Now that's a logical answer :whistling:

Do most cops carry guns when they are off duty?

How come people always make this argument as a reason to allow citizens to carry weapons yet never has one of these assholes been shot by someone.
if people had concealed weapons in that movie theater there could have been more casualties. You factor in the element of surprise and the lunatic has the upper hand. If someone shot at him in the dark he could have panicked and mowed down everyone since he has nothing to lose at that point.

he was wearing a vest too.

i've thought for years a movie theater shooting was inevitable in the usa. i thought for terrorists though, why americans do this shit.
