I don't think I love Eric Clapton as much as I'm supposed to.

I like him just fine but it has been a periodic experience through my whole life that some people will invoke his name with god-like awe, expecting me to feel the same. It happened again today. Someone told me about a Pink Floyd concert where Clapton showed up and played with them and I'm pretty sure I was suppose to be freaked out in awesome wonder at the holy appearance.

My main thought was, "I'm a lot more interested in Pink Floyd's music than Eric Clapton's music but I doubt he would actually spoil it so that's fine."

Muddy, I have a confession. I thought you wrote a song called, "Nothing's Gonna Change My World". It turns out you had done a really nice cover of "Across The Universe" (a song, as you know, written by a chap named Lennon).

I'm not sure how I never heard that song before.

I finally realized it was not a song penned by the artist, Mudcat, when I heard the song while sitting in a Starbucks. My Shazam app advised it was Across The Universe by Rufus Wainwright. I facepalmed myself in Starbucks right in front of an off-duty barista.

I still really like your cover, Muddy.

Yeah I thought your reaction to my video was a bit disproportionate - but I didn't dwell on it. I certainly didn't think you thought I wrote it or I would have corrected you.

It seems almost impossible that you wouldn't have heard the song before but that's the way things go sometimes.

Coincidentally, it was hearing it at a Starbucks a few days prior that led in a roundabout way to that recording.
