I was not aware but apparently some people are calling today - which is Valentine's Day - Single Awareness Day.

Don't know what's behind that. I guess it can work on a couple different levels. It's like giving a condescending pat on the head to people feeling left out of the traditional celebration of all the joyousness of relationships.

So unrelentingly joyous, relationships. Can I hear an A-men?

So Single Awareness Day is like a good attendance trophy for people missing out on that.

Or maybe it's completely sarcastic since the initials are SAD and it's all just like




It's actually Jenny's birthday today. Guess I better get to phoning.
