Really, there are few things greater than roast chicken. I only ever eat skinless breasts and occasionally thighs nowadays. But growing up we always had a roast chicken with potatoes and carrots once a week. The carrots came out of the pot all brown and sticky from the chicken drippings, they were like candy.

That is a great food memory.

Sometimes I'll buy a rotisserie chicken from the grocery store. I usually turn the chicken upside down, start with the oyster and move on to the thighs and legs. I can usually eat one of the breasts and the other breast get saved for lunch. These chickens are quite large so they run about $11.99.

Yeah skinless chicken can fuck right off. The skin makes it taste better.

Right now I'm munching on some provolone and casalingo sausage.

Fiver you're up late, don't you have to get up early to go job hunting?

Indeed it is but today we bought 2 little ones already cooked from Shop Rite market! On sale for $3.97 each, 35 oz total weight!

MrsM might try with what's left of the second bird and make homemade chicken pot pies on tuesday! She hasn't done that in years! Can't wait but IMO odds are No -130 Yes +120!

I don't know how cheap I could actually go with food if I set my mind to it, but I don't wanna. I mean, I do buy almost all my meat on sale and I almost never eat out - I probably spend less than most people - but I really like to enjoy my food. I like a nice Angus beef on a kaiser with double havarti for lunch - not bologna on white bread.

Friday I had a box of chicken wings and a DQ BLizzard later. That's almost 20 bucks right there - and doesn't include breakfast and lunch.

That's the exception though - both in terms of economizing and being nutritious. Most days are more under control.

But dammit, I like to enjoy the hell out of my eating.

we have a big movie studio 2 blocks down from us. They often cause havoc with street parking here.

I got really pissed yesterday because there were notices up that the show Chicago Fire was doing a shoot on our block again and we have to park elsewhere for two nights basically.

just went out to get mail and say about 30 men with snowblowers and shovels, and three plows and a dump truck of salt

they are clearing off areas with 3-4 feet of plowed snow drift and getting all the parking spaces bone dry and pavement I haven't seen in 2 months. They are clearing out the alleys

i'm ok now

thanks Chicago Fire!!!
