Game of Thrones has so many characters who have never met each other. I feel like they should have a special episode where they transport various characters around for meet-n-greets.

Like for example they could take Sam and Gillie - and maybe Cercei - and have a meeting halfway between King's Landing and the Wall - and say like, "Hey, you guys are on the same TV show! How bout that!"

Watching the movie Erin Brockovich. While I stand by my long-held assertion that Julia Roberts winning Best Actress that year over Ellen Burstyn (Requiem For a Dream) is one of the greatest cases of Oscar boobery of all time . . .

---> Erin Brockovich is nevertheless a pretty good yarn. Steven Soderbergh knows his way around a movie.

You get some moments of deeply serious cheese.

Watching Deadwood for the first time. Halfway through the first season and its so much better than GOT.

Feel like they are comparable for some reason.

Deadwood is WAYYYYY better than Game of Thrones IMO. Not particularly comparable though that I can think. Ensemble casts I guess. Fair bit of livin' and dyin' in both I guess.

Time period specific. I guess there are a few premium TV graphic adult dramas that could get thrown in the mix.

Wife just stopped watching GOT claiming loyalties to the book. I think if i've listened correctly she 1) doesn't want the end of the books to be spoiled for her and 2) hates the accelerating deviation from the written works.

Gotta love a snobby book-reader.
