:dunno: It wasn't about gags or being funny. It wasn't plot intensive. I saw moments designed to capture some greater truth of the human condition and hopefully elicit an emotional response in terms of relating to my experience.

Which is what poetry is about to me.

Do I dare to eat a peach and whatnot.

Know what I think I'm going to do dammit?

Dammit I think I'm going to download all 7 seasons of Homicide: Life on the Streets and make that my next big rewatch.

I saw the file there. It is basically like 70% of my monthly GB's. Just BOOM - 70%. Maybe I'll check where I stand first just in case. But dammit I think if I don't download anything else this month - and why would I need to with all those episodes to watch? - I can still have normal day-to-day usage and come in on target.

Dammit I might just have to do that.

I considered Homicide the best show of all time until HBO and Showtime came along. That changed the playing field.

Question is how does it stand up now. I am optimistic.

122 episodes.

Finally getting around to this and I have completed the rewatch of season 1 from 1993 and here is my assessment of how it stands up: better than I thought.

Excellent show.

You can't help but have an awareness that it's a network show. Not just the absence of swearing and sex - and of course the shorter episodes - but there is just something.

But fok it. It's great. One of the greatest groups of characters ever assembled. I know there will be changes through the years - but I know it stays good.

The acting is great. There are Oscar winners and a parade of familiar faces in guest spots. Not just people who will be on The Wire but all sorts.

And it's funny as hell too.

I'm going to carry on right thru. It's one of the best.

Well that's the beautiful thing about art.

One mans treasure is another mans hot, messy dump.

Watched the Letterman finale. Monologue was terrible. Some nice pre-done taped bits and memories of kids/pets etc. Enjoyed the Top Ten list. Fast-forwarded through the extensive thank-you's. Foo Fighters were respectably good. The series of clips they showed along with the music was WAY too fast.

Quality over quantity people. It is always the way to go.

Anyway, my rating for 33 years of the show. 6 out of 10.

Did Colbert start right up on Thursday, and follow-up question: is he being a person now or still non-stop shtick?

Steve Coogan is a very iffy proposition for me. I hated Alan Partridge (or whatever that was called). He did a couple movies with Rod Brydon (??) where they are just touring around being themselves. Some people apparently think they are hilarious but I don't find them any funnier than a bunch of people I have worked with. Did not make it to the end of the first one (and didn't bother with the sequel).

I've seen him be pretty good on some talk shows - which sounds contradictory - but it's somehow true.

I liked the movie Philomena a lot - but you kinda have to say he wasn't being Steve Coogan.

24 Hour Party People ---> pretty good.

Is my review of Steve Coogan.

Apparently there is Full House reunion being planned. They are calling it Fuller House.

I never watched Full House and never saw anything that made me even slightly curious about it.

Apparently the Olsen Twins - who were in Full House - will not be participating in the reunion.

I don't care.
