they had us read this book in 7th grade, and afterwards showed us the movie. It was a Jewish school.

It probably took most of the year. Despite my hostile attitude towards those foking religious yahoos, I give em some credit for this:
Many classes were spent in debate and discussion. Those foking kids were encouraged to think and have an opinion. One of my classes had almost nothing to do with the subject matter
I think it might have been remedial Hebrew or religious history. Mostly ended up playing trivia or discussing random subjects :

btw, I remember being underwhelmed by the movie. It was my 1st experience learning that movies are rarely as good as the book.

Apparently Harper Lee has written a second book, to be released in July.


Harper Lee's second book Go Set a Watchman, seen as a sequel to her 1960 Pulitzer Prize-winning book To Kill a Mockingbird, which is her only published novel, has gotten a throwback cover.

On an impulse I recorded season 1 of the HBO comedy Dream On. I remember my ex and I used to really enjoy watching that in bed at my ex-house.

It lasted for 6 seasons, 119 episodes (1990-1996). I would not have guessed there was that much of it.

Anyway, figured I'd try just 1 season at this point and see how it holds up.
