She does look amazing regardless of her age.

Speaking of looking amazing, you guys saw this from Miss Universe, I take it?

Anyway, having now seen all the Best Picture nominees, I'm not sure what I would vote for. I will give it some further thought. I would place the overwhelming favorite, Boyhood, last.

Not that it's terrible terrible. There is nothing I really hate. Boyhood is like 5.2 out of 10. Something like that.

In a way, American Sniper should be last considering I take it as a self-parody that ridicules its own creation. But it is quite a bit more watchable than Boyhood for me.

Watching the series Black Mirror on Netflix right now and I think it's fucked up, so I like it. I guess the best I could compare it to would be like an English version of The Twilight Zone but set in the future. That's probably not 100% accurate but it's the best I've got. Only 3 episodes in, but I'll be watching the rest of Season 1 and report back.

Watched the pilot episode of Trem on HBO tonight.

Has anyone watched this series?

Starts verrrrryyyy slow but it grew on me. I like New Orleans style jazz and history but I can see how this show isn't for everyone.

Same director as The Wire and has 2 prominent actors from The Wire.

treme was a 2-3 episoder for me... the black mirror eps are all interesting...

Americans sea 2. is waaay better, tron.. completely agree... i dont dig keri russel much.. she is rough looking at times, but the russian broad who is fucking the fbi guy is so fucking hot, its worth the watch for her...

Pondering the Best Picture Oscar.

Whiplash is a very exhilerating film. My background in music probably draws me into it even more. But it is so full of contrivance.

Selma is a relatively misstep free film about a worthy subject. I wish we could look at it and say, damn, can you believe the racist cockroaches that crawled on this earth 50 years ago? Glad that is all settled. But no. So it is an important film. It falls short of being a WOW film though.

Birdman has style and ideas. Kinda silly. There were points where I was thinking about the clock and wondering how much time was left.

Definite no to Boyhood and American Sniper. Too dull and too simpleton respectively. The Imitation Game and The Theory of Everything are nice enough but not Best Picture winners. Imitation Game is too false and Theory of Everything is really just passing time.

Grand Budapest Hotel ---> don't be ridiculous.

I guess I vote for Selma.
