Got Inception rated 6 out of 10. That feels high compared to how I remember it but the rating is the rating. Seems like the negatives have overpowered my memory but there must have been stuff I liked at the time.


Looking for a good copy of Interstellar. I DL'ed it once but it sounded like there was a wonky air conditioner running through it the whole time so I didn't bother.



Planning to watch Birdman today.
 
mentioned to my dad that american sniper was out on dvdrip and he watched last night.. called this morning and told me he would abort metoday if it were legal ... apparently, he thought it was a hugh pile of shit... i dont care much for military/war movies either
 
i agreed with him too and forgot he was even talking about a movie...:dunno:

actually, he said it reminded him too much of other movies ... seen one, seen em all, is what he said.. he is 71, ill cut him some slack for being ornery

i thought it was okay... a bit overrated... not worth a double watch for me
 
Particle Fever was cool. These giant unkempt nerds are fonny.

I wish the one guy would've ripped the economist a new asshole with his tired old question about the potential financial gain of a project like the LHC, and of fundamental science in general. The answer is obvious, and if you still don't get it you should probably just leave the room and go back to amassing currency.

Yeah I don't know about Birdman (2014). It's a pretty original structure and there are some interesting ideas that went into it. Pretty great acting across the board. Ed Norton actually stood out for me. Maybe that's because I was already completely sold on everyone else - but I have found Ed Norton iffy at times through his career. But everyone was great.

Overall I am not gaga. It is a clear thumbs up but I am not going to rave. The two hours did not fly by like my real top pics. While I like stuff that is off the beaten path, the nature of the contrivance - I mean the line between metaphor and reality - but I also mean other more literal stuff - like the theatre critic character - did not always sit quite right for me.

There is stuff to think about though. I also want to read some other thoughts and interpretations. Maybe I missed the boat on some concepts.

For now 6.8 out of 10.
