Finished my second viewing of Deadwood. Magnificent accomplishment of a show. Having now given second viewing to all the major candidates, I place Deadwood second on my all-time list behind The Wire.

The Wire gets the nod because, within all the fascinating scenarios, characters and humor - all these shows are completely entertaining - but The Wire has relevance and educational value. Not that Deadwood doesn't have anything to say about the brutality of human nature but it is more stagey and removed.

Sopranos I have to put third. It might be tied with Deadwood except (1) I don't like ties and (2) there are a couple of extended dream sequences, including one which was basically a whole episode, which I thought were major mis-steps.

Six Feet Under is 4th. Very good.

I guess that's my Mount Rushmore.

Boardwalk Empire sadly ending and memorable characters are dying off :tissue:

Have really enjoyed Michael Stuhlber's work in BWE. Will watch this, with him in it. It looks like some like it and some hate it. Some hate it then love it after a re-watch. I can't recall re-watching something I hated. Wouldn't you get ticked if you did that and re-hated it? Coehn Brothers flick.

This looks cool, Dunst has not aged very well

Predict falling asleep to it but hoping for more

I re-hate you.

A Serious Man, I found decent but probably at the low end of Coen Brothers stuff. Had an unfinished feel to it for me - and I don't just mean the ending.

But still, weakest Coen Brothers > most things (for me). Quite a few absurdly ridiculously funny moments in it.

:rolling: I'd like to rewatch that one. It helps to be Jewish for it. It might be my #3 behind BigL and BurnAR
