Anyone watch The Conjuring? Coworker is into horror flicks and she said it was good, but it looks pretty shitty to me.

Based on a true story - or people anyhow, Looks intriguing though. Not sure how I feel about possessions, hauntings, etc. It doesn't seem real to me, I think it's one of those things you have to experience to believe, and the chances of that are slim to none in my opinion.

They aren't real at all, anyone who believes in that shit should be immediately dismissed from any rational conversation. Movies about these things are stupid as are all people who are stupid enough to watch them.

TBH, I feel like it's one of those things that's all in your head. You expect, maybe even want to see/hear/experience it, so you're in the mind set of feeling scared or nervous....it seems like a psychological thing. One can make their mind, see or feel anything one wants it to.

Mediocre suspense/horror.

Good at setting up a few creepy scares. Borderline crappy at being a decent movie apart from the those scares.

I'm sure I have made this point before but here I go anyway:

Why have previews of a show immediately before it starts? Coming up on The Knick ---> and then a bunch of spoilers of what you are about to see.

Even if it's previewing next week's episode, unless I am right on the fence if I am going to watch - which very seldom happens - almost never - I don't want spoilers of even the most subtle kind.

But when it's for the show that's about to start in like 10 seconds ----> WTF?

as far as these types of flicks go, for me, insidious was more entertaining with spooky tricky spirits

Anyway, checked out the season 1 finale of The Knick. Great show. Not as great as the holy triumvirate of shows but somewhere in the next cluster.

The Newsroom will be coming back for a 3rd season in a few weeks. Funny thing: when I think of that show (which I have watched every episode of) I immediately think of about 17 things I really dislike about it. I don't think of much good.

I've got it rated 5 so obviously there wasn't a lot of overwhelmingly positive stuff - but something kept me going.

I guess I will watch episode 1 of the new season when it comes around and go from there.
