Rewatched The Godfather 3.

I have to say it. I know it has been beaten to death - but I have to say it again.

Sofia Coppola is just stunningly bad. It's unbelievable.

It's a level of performance I wouldn't be surprised to find from a supporting player in something like, you know, Piranha 6. But this is the follow-up to two all-time legendary movies. And that happens.

I want to compare it to Bill Buckner but that's not quite it. Of course dad has to take a good chunk of the blame.

But just holy fuck. Like, Andy Garcia is terrible in it too - but you barely notice because he's like Daniel Day-Lewis beside her.

That was your first mistake. Well, second actually. I barely made it through the first time, and don't even consider it part of the series. FWIW the remastered blu-ray is worth the money. I always watch 1 and 2 after the first snow with friends. It's becoming a bit of a tradition. We buy bottles of wine and make Italian food. Usually we are drunk by the end of 1 and someone inevitably falls asleep at one point or another.

Jennifer Lawrence was on The Daily Show this week. I psyched myself up for it. I just haven't like her so far in the big picture, and I stressed to myself to keep an open mind.

She was good! Some appealing and humorous attitude to her.

Her acting still doesn't work for me at all but maybe this was an important first step.

Bill Cosby on the other hand ---> does not come off well.

Apparently he is doing some kind of comeback standup tour. I remember thinking some of his stuff back in the day was really funny (not sure how it would stand up now but that's how it struck me at the time) but he should just stick with the scripted stuff and stay away from showing his true self. Seems like a bitter crappy guy.
