Boardwalk Empire - Season 3


Still very entertaining. I found this season a little more prone to broad, obvious people-pleasing gestures and arcs than they typically went for in the first 2. I noticed some slight heavy-handedness creeping into the scripts at a few points along the way. It would be the weakest of the seasons in my estimation, but still very enjoyable. I flew through it pretty fast.

I guess I'm caught up and now have to wait for season 4 which I will have to watch week-by-week like everyone else. Not till fall, they are saying.

Netflix tells me that availability for Boardwalk S3 is "Unknown".

That's not really doing it for me.

I'm looking forward to House Of Cards in mid-June, though.

I have Boardwalk S3 all saved neat and tidy on my computer here. I feel like I want to copy it to a flash drive and give it to someone - but I don't know who. Seems a shame to just delete it but I guess that's what will happen.

The show really revolved around Jimmy. I think it needs to make Al a bigger part of it now.

Out of curiosity, what do you peeps think of Joan from Mad Men, sexiness-wise?



I'll go first: she does NOTHING for me. Not that I have a hard time accepting when this marginally-attractive-at-best (IMO) woman keeps getting treated like the ultimate sex goddess; I can buy it within the construct of the show; I understand that standards of beauty have changed and demonstrating that is part of her function.

But I have also seen that some people today are totally hot for her. I'm guessing those people are a small minority because, if not, we would be seeing more people that look like Joan in present-day media. But I dunno.
