I have never been entirely clear on the rules of spoilers and when you can start blabbing crucial plot points about movies. It's hard to imagine how they could have done a more thorough spoiling job than that clip they showed for Flight during Denzel's nomination.

You'd think movie people would know better. Really crappily done IMO.

What was Affleck talking about anyway? It sounded like he was blabbing to the world that he and Jennifer Garner are having marital problems - but he was speaking so fast I can't be sure what he was saying. Something about having to work hard on his marriage or some damn thing? :dunno:

It was weird.

There may be a serious talk in his near future.

My overall rating for Seth Macfarlane: C-

Just too self-conscious. Too many references to how his performance was going and place in Oscar history, and also the length of the ceremony which seemed a pretty normal length to me. Too much forced self-deprecation starts coming across as neediness.

And instead of telling jokes and then having after-jokes about the lameness of the joke just told, how bout just not having lame jokes?

Some of the jokes worked though.

He looks good and has a nice voice. When he is introducing the next presenter or otherwise moving things along, he has a good presence. But as for his act, he is not a comedian. I think voice actor/animator is probably the right place for him.

Not a fail but I wouldn't be asking him back.

But then I wouldn't ask Billy Crystal in a million years and he has done it about 8 times.

twitter and facebook were getting bombarded by drunk ass bill maher all night... "seth killed it" "seth did an amazing job" etc... would have thought the two were buttfucking 7 days a week... overly annoying

Seriously though, I would be pissed if I was still planning to see Flight. They could not have picked a more blatant spoiler than the clip they showed. It was like someone sat down and mathematically calculated the highest ratio of spoiling possible within the allotment of time - and BOOM! they stuck it on the show.

Like, isn't a year a reasonable length of time to wait before you start spoiling? Give it a chance to trickle down to all the usual media and let everyone who wants to see it, see it?

That's how I feel. I often give spoiler alerts when I'm talking about 30 year old movies. I know that's extreme but that's how I feel about it.

It is generally no great hardship to avoid spoilers and it sure wouldn't have been last night. Denzel is in the WHOLE FUCKING MOVIE. It's not like that was the only clip to showcase his work.

Sorry for the rant but

:fok:

Year of the Pi? I refuse to believe that Argo is going to win Best Picture. Average flick at best.

was overhyped since word it was being released... one of those things that is judged before half a dozen other movies even come out...whoreshit, but whadayadoo? there were a handful of better movies, imo... flight and django were my top 2 and argo was somewhere 5-10 ...
