:lmao: I do feel award shows are kind of a farce. They appear as little more than an exercise of patting oneself (whatever the unimpressive industry) on the back and advertizing.

Another words, it's propaganda designed to keep the whatever unimpressive pop culture entity appear significant and keep it at the fore front of peoples minds. Plus the format is uninteresting. Hows that for self congratulatory? :yum:
 
I guess I could start justifying my interest in the Oscars but it would kind of defeat the futile point I am always making: that people just have different interests and tastes and no one is right or wrong. Just different.

Curiously, that concept of subjectivity is a good argument for the foolishness of awarding Oscars, basically Woody Allen's point. If I believe that, I should shun the Oscars. But nay fleabag! - since reaching absolute conclusions based on the awards given is very low on my list of reasons for watching, I feel like I am still on solid ground!



Now the Oscars are the only award show I watch. Anyone who watches the other ones are total fags.
