Flight (2012) - Interesting movie. Denzel well worthy of the Best Actor nom.

It was a wonderful premise and set up. If they could have come up with some really interesting way to wrap it up, this could have been a classic. Instead it was just like, "Oh." Not that it was offensive, not that I have any better ideas right at this second, but just, "Oh."

Still I would have nominated it for Best Picture over most of the stuff that's there.

7 out of 10

My fear of having steered you in the wrong direction is pretty low here. I can't imagine anyone really hating it. Now for me to say I like it more than most of the Best Picture noms is as much a statement about the weakness of that field as the strength of Flight, but my 7 rating feels pretty realistic. Overall rating at imdb = 7.4

*SPOILER ALERT*

Seriously, if you are going to watch season 3 of Justified, this clip is a climactic scene from the last episode and, short though it may be, gives away some important stuff that the whole season builds towards.

I'm posting it because this scene totally cracks me up. Don't know if it strikes others the same way. Maybe I am just getting sick and twisted in my old age. Cracks me the fuck up.

In other news, apparently Bad Santa 2 is in development and B.B. Thornton will be back. I love me some Bad Santa (2003). It has a few scenes that fall flat for me - but so many laughs. My all-time favorite Christmas movie.

Kinda dreading this sequel though. Gut reaction. Hoping for the best.
