My cel phone fell out of my pocket last night from over 30' onto a dirt covered concrete floor. Thankfully the softness of the dirt combined with my Trident Case... it did not even have a scratch on it.

Guess I do get lucky sometimes.

FOKKING thing has a drop rating and some sort of US Military Stamp of Approval; You have this phone Plommay.

I don't own a smart phone and am not seeing one in my immediate future.

I do have a cellphone. I was going to look up a pic of it and post it - but I can't find it.

I prolly average 1 cellphone call per month averaging 1 minute. Every once in awhile I will notice that my brother texted me a week or two ago. For all that, I pay something like $16/month.

Seems crazy. It's there for emergencies though I guess.

(Yes, I realize phone calls are not the primary raison d'etre for smart phones.)

They do come in handy from time to time MrM. I have only gotten a smartphone within the last 6 months. A few simpler things that I like about it compared to my old phone:

Speech to text, SMS messaging capability
Memo/list making - old phone was too clunky for this
Camera (been great for chronicling my house renovations)
Calendar - Tracking my work hours
Simple Games - sudoku/crossword etc... tried some other 'popular' games and cannot get into it
Maps -

I started making a list of shit I do with my phone but I got overwhelmed.

I reckon it's an unhealthy addiction, but it's more useful than it is unhealthy.

And yeah, being able to insta-document JL's life so I can insta-share with his grandparents in Quebec is priceless.
