I dunno it's hard to compare cause it's not that easy to score in hockey during one on one.

Then make it 15 yards away. They score every single time. It shouldn't be that easy.

15 yards is the edge of the box. If I was a defender or a goalie I would take my chances and foul in the box than letting a guy take a free shot at the goal.

You have no idea how easy is for the goalie to take a couple of steps up and cut the angle if the shot is from 15 yards.

Also then what's the purpose of having a penalty box if the shot is going to be taken from the edge of the box? You might as well don't have a box. Just foul anywhere.

Basketball free throws are easy. Some guys shoot 90%. I don't see anyone wanting to have them shot from the 3 point line.

Do you remember when the MLS started in 1996 they had a rule for draws. If a game ended in a draw they had a penalty shootout. But instead of penalty kicks they would do it like hockey. You get the ball at midfield and dribble towards the goal like a breakaway. I think it lasted a couple years and then they scrapped it.

Not saying it's easy to solve, Saulty. But it's frustrating.

A 1-time flop/grey area penalty in a game shouldn't be a deciding factor for these important games that happen every 4 years.

Something needs to change.

I noticed today how careful players are not to foul inside the box. The player actually had an opportunity to make a play. Hockey could use some of that.

I just followed Joey Fitz at Peeps. He knows soccer as much as anyone in forumville. Pretty much the only betting I have done for the past month, and only did that out of boredom when i was at the hospital.
