After a hot start and a whole year of wondering when Chris Colabello will cool down, he is sitting at .331 on the morning of September 9th.

Not enough at bats for an official spot in the batting title standings - but damn.

AND - after being a bit of a joke in the field at times in the early going, he has been making some not unrespectable plays at first base lately.

Not unrespectable.

.331. Righty who hits righties. Bit o' pop.

Droopy Dog looking MFer.

To have a championship season you usually need a bunch of things to come together. A few guys have career years while long-term stars maintain performance. When injuries happen, guys step up capably. A young guy or two break through and prove they belong in the show.

The Blue Jays can check all those boxes.

Sometimes a miracle is good too. That's what I'm hoping for now. The starting pitching concerns me. If Stroman could step up and be what he was last year, holy shit, what a gift from the baseball gods that would be.

I can't say I expect it. And maybe they can get through with what they've got.

But oh man, that is a big start on Saturday.
