IAG, I have not had an episiode in a while. I usually have at least 1/year, but I honestly can't recall the last time I had an episode. It's a brutal feeling. I'll never forget the time I had my first episode. I think I was 17 or 18. Just a brutally strange experience like I was possessed or demons taking over my body while sleeping. A horrible feeling for sure.

I don't mean to worry you, but I went a long time ...like 5-10 years without an episode and had one within the last year. I hope it is at least another 5-10 years before the next. Awful.

Yes it is awful. I know now when I am having one I can force myself to wake up, but it's like fighting that "demon" trying to get yourself to wake up. What a weird feeling. I am sleeping yet I know I need to wake myself up to break the episode up. Strange. Now that it's on my mind I bet I will have one soon.

That sounds exactly like how mine go. Feeling like I will die if I can't break thru to wake up. Evil presence..the whole bit....scary. Do you sleep on your back? Supposedly happens more when you do.

It really is an awful feeling Cami. It's hard for people who don't suffer from these episodes to understand what it's like.

I know sometimes I can have nightmares that linger for a day, and leave me feeling unsettled, I can't imagine how this must feel. How awful. :console:
I wonder if they will ever come up with a cure or treatment for it....or have they and I just don't know about it?
