you'll still be able to find the Blazing 7's here.
People love those, they change out most machines every few months, those are over 20 years old and not going anywhere.

A friend recently had them take out taxes from a $4k royal, got paid 2700.

I had to claim 9 or so of those one year. Yeah I LOVE those Blazing 7s...at Colorado CC anyway. Consistently paid out $200 and $300 and the jackpots seem to hit fairly frequently...usually about $1200 or so. You used to be able to get a row of those on a slow day and clean up. I hit back to back jackpots on one of those once....literally the next spin or two...or maybe it was two diff machines simultaneously. I wish I could remember the other one I used to love....oh wait...TRIPLE STARS....at the Isle...only had 1 I think..maybe 2.

Boner you ignorant turd, the gambler is getting milked. What's so hard to understand. Not talking about professionals. People who gamble. People who already pay into the system by way of vig. You ever heard of gambling?:what?:
Don't be trying to pass of your ignorance and slave mentality as some law abiding righteousness.

You have got to be kidding me. Only people who win, right? Year on year, the winners are the ones getting screwed here. Losers don't get screwed with this, they don't pay any tax. The winning rec gambler is who you're worried about here. This is a problem. Jesus christ, you are fukking hopeless.

Winning rec gamblers are going to be driven away in droves because they're worried about having to fill out a form IF they win. Amazing. Explain it. Please.

Explain to me how this rule is a problem for any subset of society that's worth a damn. Fukking retard.

Once again, this only effects winning pro gamblers who routinely evade taxes.

Boner give it up pal. You obviously know nothing about the subject. Listen and learn instead of trying to show off that you know something about the tax code.

1. Get the idea of professionals out of your mind, most actually do keep detailed records.
2. Technically every dollar bet and won is supposed to be reported, this of course doesn't happen (non pros here boner 99.999% of gamblers)
3. Non pros do win sometimes, they even have winning years.
4. Reporting every dollar wagered or won would make casino gambling unmanageable. And yes rec gamblers would quit in droves and look for alternatives.

I guess this about sums up the difference between our thinking. I yield to your superior knowledge of the economics and psychology of gambling. You should open a casino since you're such a whiz with the logic behind gambling, revenue and taxation.

Once this goes into effect I'll await the exodus from NV since the gambling industry will just be decimated by the droves of recreational gamblers flocking to offshore locations where they don't have to fill out a tax form when they win. I hope everyone will find work and acceptable replacement recreation.

Finally Reno, I want to sincerely thank you for looking out for the little guy. I am myself a recreational gambler and I for one, know that without people like you with your finger on the pulse of the goings on in tax reporting/gambling, i'd be completely taken advantage of by those greedy casino operators and their tax-man overlords. You are a saint.

Because a win is not necessarily income. You can have winning hands and still end up a loser. You're playing a negative expectancy game. You will be a loser and still be paying taxes. And before boner runs in here with the writing off of loses, it's important to note that not everybody itemiezes nor should they be forced to abandon their standard deduction to write off 600 dollar jackpot.

Valid point

The most that would ever cost anyone would be $2494.40. That person would be someone who won $6300 in 10-11 600+ payouts and lost exactly $6299 that year with no other deductions (e.g. state income tax - from FL basically, not a single $1 to charity). Oh and this person makes $413,201+ annually so they're in the top tax bracket (%39.6).

Someone with median household income in the same situation (10-11 $600 wins and the max losses before triggering itemizing - $6299) would pay an extra $1574.75. Admittedly, this will effect as many as single digit, maybe even tens of people per year! Reno is worried about them.
