I still don't see how you can compare: declaring bets at a casino to scalping profits.

A casino is an institution where things are documented.

If you buy and sell tickets on craigslist there's no institution or documentation.

Uh...So the issue is documentation? I thought Boner's argument was that Reno was illegally evading taxes by not reporting ALL gambling income, even that that for which no form is provided? Table winnings and hand paid slot/vp jackpots u der $1200 (for now) are NOT documented (u less you play for comps and that's a different kind of deal). Are you really reporting that $10 you make off a scratch ticket?

But it's ok to profit by making your money illegally therefore avoiding taxes? I'm not suggesting that he claim that money obviously, but it just seems hypocritical.
