Anyone have or know about Keurigs?

Is it one of those industrial machines that can prepare anything, or just an espresso machine?

Some of the high end machines for home use are the price of a new car.

That's just beautiful. Is it complicated? Looks like it might be complicated. It's definitely too expensive for me. I don't like coffee THAT much. But it looks good. I would probably buy it and just let it sit on the counter. It would end up on ebay in a few years after price declined %500

The frother (the attached thermos) is an added piece. It really just grinds the coffee after you push a button. It's pretty simple. I use it to heat water for my tea. It's a very expensive teapot.

Oooh, that looks fancy. It's not what I was thinking of but it looks better suited for home use.

I'm glad TOM also seems to be a frivolous spender.

That was actually a Christmas gift...I guess that makes me the frivolous spender. He's very fiscally responsible.

I was 9 months pregnant and told him to just pick something. I had no patience to walk through another store.

I have a $20 Black and Decker coffee maker. It's just dandy for my purposes.

It has lasted for a few years - maybe more than a few - and when it dies I imagine I will invest $20 in another.

I guess it's good to have simple tastes.

(On further contemplation, it might have been $25.)

What is the difference between the Keurig and the Tassimo?

I dunno, never used a Keurig. I think I would like the Keurig better if only because of the ability to use your own coffee. Can't do that with the Tassimo.

Otherwise it's the same principle. One-button-press coffee.
