I do not seem to be as hysterical as the world thinks I should be. The media is talking about the need for fundamental changes to our way of life and apologizing for even talking about sports on such an earth-shattering day.

I understand that before the NHL game in Pittsburgh, they sang the Canadian national anthem as a show of support and sympathy in light of the traumatic events.

Nice gesture I guess. I'm not saying it's not, but I'm not terrorized or traumatized or even mildly phased.

Muddy's point is that people are giving too much significance to the act of a lone wolf. Which is a fair point.

I am the terrorist's worst nightmare. I am basically unterrorizable. I am pragmatic. Fortunately for them, there are plenty of hysterical people out there to give them power.

I have to say though, while I generally consider myself in the minority on that, I was a little surprised at how non-hysterical the man-on-the-streets comments I heard yesterday were. From Canada. Americans want it to be another 9-11 and spread the fear around like candy corn, but people in Ottawa were in distinct contrast to what the media people were pitching. They were like, that really sucked - now can I open my business?
